One Ear Brand was founded by Osaka-based bandana expert Jonathan Lukasek.
Using custom fabric, the single-ear bandanas are made entirely in Japan and printed one at a time in a kimono-making factory in Kyoto, meaning each batch is slightly different.
They make amazing eco bags, face masks, scarves, furoshiki wrapping cloths, head wraps, and more. Japanese-American artist Yurika Cherise Shikai paints each piece using a bandana as a canvas.
My first trip to Jackson in 2024 was an exciting one. Driving through miles of beautiful geological landscapes on my way across Nevada and Utah to Jackson Hole was an experience I'll never forget.
Jackson is a small town boasting some of the best skiing and beautiful scenery in the continental USA. Grit General is a cozy shop located in the heart of Main Street, and the owners approached us with an original design. They wanted to create a special "The West" bandana, and they had a very clear vision that guided us. The design was a collaborative effort from start to finish, and was realized thanks to their deep love and knowledge of Jackson.
This bandana features iconic Jackson icons like moose, grizzly bears, mountains, and of course, cowboys. Wyoming is known for its rodeo, so that was the central theme of the bandana. The color palette is based on the city of Jackson, with vintage tones and hues for a modern vintage feel.
The design is based on the Swagger and Wrangler bandanas of the 1960s. However, rather than focusing on authenticity, the aim for this piece was to maximize the size of the fabric and make it relevant to current fashion trends. I was aiming for an atmosphere reminiscent of the milk glass graphics found in roadside diners. I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Grit General.

During a recent trip to Jackson (a first actually) in 2024 was a very inspiring journey. Driving across Nevada and Utah to Jackson Hole, traversing miles of scenic geology formations, is something I will never forget.
The small town of Jackson is home to some of the best skiing and beautiful vistas in the continental USA. Grit General is a cozy shop located in the heart of the mainstreet area. The owners requested an original design for their shop and wanted to do a special “The West” bandanna. They laid the foundations for this design, and gave us a very clear direction to work from. We worked together start to finish on this design and it came out because of their deep appreciation and knowledge of Jackson.
This bandanna features all the icons of Jackson; moose, grizzly bears, mountains, and of course cowboys. Wyoming is famous for rodeo so naturally we made this the main point of the bandanna. The color palette is based on the city colors of Jackson. We used vintage tones and hues to give the designs a more modern vintage feel.
The design is based on the “Swagger” and Wrangler bandannas of the 1960s. We hoped the design felt more like a roadside dinner milk glass graphic than an authentic bandanna. We design not for the purpose of authenticity but for getting the most out of the size of the cloth and current fashion climate. We really appreciate Grit General for working with us on this.

Regarding exchanges
- We offer a free exchange service (domestic only) for the first exchange.
- Please contact us with your desired color and size within 7 days of receiving the product.
- For exchanges due to customer convenience from the second time onwards, the customer will be responsible for the round-trip shipping costs.
(e.g., difference in image, difference in size, incorrect order). Thank you for your understanding.
Regarding returns
1. Products that can be returned
- Unused items (tried on indoors only) for which there is no exchange size available.
- In the case of initial defective products (defective products, incorrect shipments, etc.)
2. Products that cannot be returned
- Products that have been used once (including trying on in places with outdoor shoes)
- Products that have been damaged or soiled due to customer's responsibility
- Products that have passed 7 days since arrival
- Special order products requested by the customer
- If the product or accessories do not match
- If accessories such as the box, inner paper, product tags, etc., have been disposed of
- Repair costs that have been incurred
- Sale / outlet products (applicable products have a stamp on the size name)
- Products that were repaired at the time of purchase
- Build-to-order products

Notes on returning items
Please return the item in the same cardboard box in which it was originally sent from our store. We cannot accept returns if the item returned differs from how it was delivered.
(e.g., damage to the cosmetic box, loss of accessories)
Please ensure the item is returned in the exact condition it was in when you received it.
Regarding shipping costs for returns

Return method
If you wish to return an item, please log in to the returns/exchanges my page and submit a return request by selecting the desired item.
After our staff confirms your request, an approval email will be sent. Please ship the returned item to the address specified in the approval email.
After confirming receipt of the item, we will refund the product price or send an exchange item.
*For defective products or incorrect deliveries, we will cover the shipping costs.
*For exchanges where a price difference occurs and for orders from outside Japan, please return the item and place a new order.
